So after trial and erroring probably every different product in Superdrug I have finally found my holy grail makeup products that are amazing for everyday wear. These products are amazing for when you don’t need a full coverage and a sharp contour, but when you still want to look bright and natural for uni or work. So many bloggers use high end products, but for those who’s bank accounts aren’t so lucky take a look through these for my absolute favourite drugstore makeup products at the mo’.
After using this Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation I don’t know how i’m ever going to go back to a matte finish ever again. This foundation is so lightweight and looks beautiful on the skin. I was very skeptical to try this out but it adds such a healthy glow to the skin and still looks super natural. It stays on for most the day, all be it not as long as other foundations I have tried but it definitely passes the 6 hour mark! I love how you can’t even feel it on your skin. I usually use my Real Techniques beauty blender for this, but recently I have ventured back to makeup brush application and am quite liking the Real Techniques buffing brush.
After applying foundation I move onto eyebrows as I really need a base for my product to sit on. I use the Freedom brow pomade to create a really sharp line for my eyebrows then fill in with my absolute favourite thing ever, the Essence “The Velvets” eye shadow in the shade ‘Mr Mocha Bean’. I came across these eye shadows in Wilkinsons and absolutely fell in love with the brown shade for my eyebrows, just don’t knock it until you try it and I would absolutely recommend trying it! The angle brush I use is by eco-tools, I love it because its so firm it really gives you the control you need for sharp brows.
Ok so heres no surprise as this is probably everyones favourite concealer, the Collection Lasting Perfection. I have mentioned it a million times and can’t see a day in the near future where I will stop using this. It covers my dark circles, it doesn’t crease once its set and it lasts all day. What more do you want from a concealer? I apply it with my beauty blender and set it with my powder. I also sometimes add a little bit of the Wake Me Up concealer by Rimmel on my face for highlight as it is lovely and glowy.
I do prefer a more duey foundation these days as opposed to matte but I do still set my foundation with the Rimmel Stay Matte powder in the colour Transparent. I also set underneath my eyes with this as it stops my concealer from creasing! I use my large Eco Tools brush, I absolutely love eco tools as their brushes are soooo soft.
Highlight and Contour:
After setting my face I have almost finished my base so all I need to do is highlight and contour. For everyday I don’t really want a sharp contour so I just use my Maybelline Master Contour powder for my bronzer with my Real Techniques contour brush and just add a bit of colour to my face and nose. I then use my Freedom Pro Blush palette for highlight as stated in my Everyday Contour Routine post.
I usually just use my Urban Decay Ultimate Basics palette for everyday as its all matte and neutral colours, I will use a crease colour and might apply a slight neutral shimmer. However I cannot forget to line my upper eye with my Maybelline Master Precise eyeliner pen in the brown colour. I only do a smile line right along my lash line as I feel like really helps make my eyes look slightly bigger and create fuller eyelashes.
The only drugstore mascara that I will ever spend my money on these days in the Maybelline Lash Sensational, it adds volume and length to your lashes as well as separates them. Another mascara I have been loving is this tiny YSL one I got in a Black Opium gift set, it really separates my lashes perfectly so I use it before applying the Lash Sensational.
Nude lips are perfect for everyday. Maybellines Color Sensational Matte lipsticks are amazing, I use the colour Clay Crush most days which is a rosy-nude. I am also loving glossy lips at the minute so I apply a light pink No7 lipgloss over the top.
