5 Resolutions for Everyone in 2017

So we are about half way through the first month of 2017. So many people have started on their new years resolutions. I have no resolutions for this year, only a few changes I would like to make in my life to see me for another happy and productive year. 2016 was the year I needed to prepare myself for 2017, with the motivation and new mind set I have recently adopted I feel fully ready to have the best year of my life. Here are 5 of the best ways you can change yourself this year to allow for a productivity and happiness.

Focus on self happiness:
So many people focus on making others happy before theirself. Making sure you smile throughout the day is not selfish. Learn to enjoy smiling, laughing and feeling happy and aim to do it for the remainder of these days in 2017. Whether it be going to your favourite restaurant, treating yourself to a new pair of shoes or just having your favourite pudding after tea. Everyday should be finished with the thought of, ‘today has been a good day’.20170118-184316899-01

Don’t wait until tomorrow:
It seems to much more appealing to leave doing your washing until tomorrow, or the next day. You have a whole month to do your uni assignment, so you obviously don’t need to start it yet! Procrastination is the biggest killer of productivity. Once you get what you don’t want to do out of the way, you don’t have to think about it any more. Instead of it being in the back of head irritating you all day everyday, get it done and then focus on things you want to do. 201701182081342275-01

Take up meditation:
Sometime’s we just go go go until we burn out and forget that we need to take a minute for ourselves. Relaxation is detrimental to our physical and mental health. Dedicate some time throughout the week to really wind down, meditation is the perfect way to really relax. There are so many guided meditations on YouTube that really help you escape your the busyness of your everyday life. You can meditate in a relaxing bath, in the comfort of your bed or in summer take yourself outside and enjoy the warm breeze as you relax.
A peaceful mind-frame will allow so much more productivity and happiness into your life.

Know that you deserve more:
You only get one life so striving for the best out of it is so important. If you are in a job you hate, do not be afraid to know you are better than it. Try and find a new job, take the opportunities that are given to you and run at them head first. If you’re no longer fully committed to a friendship or a relationship but are staying because you are used to it, don’t be afraid to leave. Try new things. Immerse yourself fully in things you love and always strive for what you want. Don’t let another year pass you by out of fear you may be making the wrong decision, believe in karma and fate and take a chance.

Make the memories:
Probably the most important thing that I will focus on this year is creating more memories with people I love. Life is for living, not just getting by. Make a list of things you want to do in 2017 and make sure you do as many of them as you can. For example, I want to go to a festival, I want to go to as many concerts as possible. I want to go on holiday and I want to make so many memories with my friends and family. Look back on this list in 2018 and see how many amazing things you have accomplished throughout this year.

I hope everyone reading this has an amazing 2017 and really transforms their lives for the better. I know I am so excited for what is coming up this year and I can’t wait to hopefully have the best year of my life. Comment below your things to do this year, I would love to read them!
